Ferrari Win The European F1 Grand Prix

Sep 22, 2008 in Sports

This year's F1 Grand Prix in Valencia was a nail-biter, but in the end Ferrari's Felipe Massa walked away victorious. Massa's sheer speed could not be rivaled by Lewis Hamilton, who finished second for McLaren-Mercedes.

Controversy surrounded Massa's pit stop during lap 37 after which he was released illegally into the path of Force India's Adrian Sutil. Officials eventually decided that Massa did not gain an unfair advantage over Sutil.

f1Team Ferrari was fined 10,000 euros because of the safety issues caused by the incident. In an unusual decision, the stewards opted to investigate the occurrence after the race's completion.

The near miss called the pit stop procedures of Team Ferrari into question. Instead of using a 'lollipop man' to control their driver, Team Ferrari relies heavily on a system of automated lights that illuminate to indicate to the driver when the fuel pump is removed from the vehicle.

Unfortunately, the manual override sequence failed to prevent Massa from getting the green light from his pit crew when the refueling of his car was complete, causing him to veer dangerously in front of the Force India driver. Officials ultimately ruled the situation to be dangerous, but they felt it did not affect the overall outcome of the race.

f1Massa's sheer speed dominated the field for the majority of the race. His pole position start quickly translated into a solid lead on the first lap. Hamilton started on the dirty side of the track and fought with BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica for second place throughout much of the race.

By the time of his first pit stop, Massa had a five second lead on Hamilton, who entered the pit two laps after Massa. Even though Hamilton zipped through those two laps fantastically, the lead was only reduced by a second when he pitted.

Before his second pit stop, Massa had increased his lead to eight seconds. When Hamilton decided to stop in the pit two laps later, Massa cruised to victory.

Hamilton was fine with second place, though, as he had an undisclosed health problem. He confessed that Massa had driven a much better race than he had, as well.

The controversy surrounding Massa's second stop wasn't the only problem in the pits during Valencia's Grand Prix. Massa's fellow Ferrari driver, Kimi Raikkonen, tried leaving the pit before refueling was complete, injuring a worker in the process. Raikkonen reportedly drove away before he was given the green light and had to stop yet again. The worker suffered a broken nose and a sore back.

On a clear track, Raikkonen lapped one second slower than Massa. His troubles started with a poor performance in the qualifying heats. After his ill-fated pit stop, his engine failed, forcing him to retire from Valencia's Grand Prix.

Even with the problems in the pit, the Grand Prix was an incredible race. Massa's dominance in this race made him the closest challenger for the championship against Hamilton. When the next race comes, these two will be gunning for each other, driving like two men on a desperate mission to claim the ultimate Grand Prix F1 prize.

How to Get Started with Auto Racing

Sep 22, 2008 in Automotive

In any type of business, hobby, or professional sports that one wants to get started in, a lot of the times it is simply who you know more than what you can do. In other words, the connections of the people that you have matter a whole lot more than your abilities. This is very true for a whole lot of different things, but auto racing seems to be a very different deal in itself. For example, when many people want to get started in auto racing there is always the possibility of approaching someone that they already know is involved with it, but the better thing to do would be to make a name for yourself before you even start. Here are some suggestions, though, if you are to survive in the world of auto racing.

406Act like a Pro

One of the best things that you can do while you are in an auto racing circle of friends is to act like you know and believe everything that you're saying. On the other hand, if you're claiming that your car is able to do zero to sixty seconds in five seconds flat then you better have some action or facts to back it up with. But considering that many people who perform in the auto racing industry are already professionals, it would be good to also become one yourself. This, of course, requires a great deal of research and reading, but if auto racing is important to you then you probably will be more than happy to do it.

Have a Bad Car

3If you are going to be racing in the auto racing industry then chances are that you'll need an automobile to at least look the part of the appropriate driver that you should be. Many young adults in the United States are now joining auto racing groups throughout their cities and towns, and many of these people already have bad cars that they like to show off to their family and friends. Furthermore, these are the cars that help them win the First Place at many of the smaller racetracks around the country. If your whole goal is to get inside a circle of auto racing friends and professionals in the industry then you definitely need a car that you can race. Some of the more popular cars in recent years that have been brought to the forefront of auto racing groups is the Chevrolet Cobalt and the Chevrolet Cavalier. Both of these cars are great for auto racing, but there are plenty of other choices as well!

Do Your Best

The whole point of auto racing throughout the racetracks around the country is to win the First Place so that you'll have something to talk and brag about. If you are going to be all excited about auto racing, but then don't put your whole heart and soul into the game then there is absolutely no reason to win. On the other hand, winning an auto race means a lot to a great deal of people!

All in all, auto racing is not just some hobby on the side that you should consider a pastime if you are truly serious about joining a race. There are plenty of people within the auto racing industry that can tell a genuine interested person from a fake so you must do your best to impress!

Analyzing city layouts

Sep 22, 2008 in News

Planning the construction of the city is not a new process. It is an age old process used by the kings to construct their empire. Planning the location of the buildings and their interconnection is what is called the city layout. This is a time consuming process that requires analysis of the future improvements and a good layout is one, which allows expansion to be made later. The convenience of the people is the major factor that determines the layout of a city.

The layout of a city determines where the buildings are erected and where the roads are laid down. Determining an appropriate layout for a city is very important as it decides the traffic in the city. The layout of the city must be planned such that the entire city is well connected. Different layouts are available for connecting a city and the type of layout that is chosen depends on the expected traffic and the purpose of the city. Generally while constructing a big city, a combination of different layout patterns is used.

Natural layout

Certain cities have natural terrains in their way and it is essential to construct the city based on these terrains. Many cities in the world have a natural layout and when the city is planned based on the natural layout, then it would be easier for further expansion.3D_18

Hexagonal layout

In theory the hexagonal layout appears to be the best layout for constructing a city. During the 1930s, a hexagonal layout was used in constructing small urban cities, but the layout was not deployed on a larger scale. With this layout, the diagonal movements became very difficult, hence instead of using a full hexagonal layout, the city plan used parallel streets, triangular interconnecting was also used. Even though many improvements were made to the hexagonal layout, it did not serve to reduce the increased traffic in the cities.

Concentric circles

The concentric circles layout suggests the interconnection of streets by the ring roads, where the heart of the city is the center for the concentric circles. This type of layout is convenient for those who live in the core of the city. But those who live in down town area must travel for a long time to reach their office at the city centre.

Grid layout

In this type of layout, the streets will run at right angles to each other. This type of layout is used for the cities that were built during the Indus valley civilization. This is an old layout that was used in constructing American cities in the 1960s. This layout was used in many parts of Asia. The construction of cities with grid layout is inexpensive. Later, as the vehicle traffic increased, this layout was abandoned, since the layout left some streets unconnected to the main roads. Also grid layout limits the scope of reconstruction.

Benefits Of RF Online’s Micropayment Approval Process

Sep 22, 2008 in Entertainment

Micropayments are the way most MMORPGs make their money, especially the free-to-play games like RF Online. These are small payments with real money in order to buy credits within the game. RF Online has many such small credits that can be bought. These can enhance the powers and even the appearances of the players. Since all players do not buy these purchasable items, the RF Online world looks quite diverse. Instead of all the players looking like washed-out clones of each other, there are players with jazzier weapons and attire than others. This distinction that the micropayment approval process brings in on RF Online is certainly its best benefit.292-1024

There is a whole detailed process for making these micropayments, which requires the players to contact Codemasters, the developers of the game in the US/UK region. The approval process is stringent, with the players having to give information about them for verification. However, the stringent micropayment approval process of RF Online does have its advantages because it keeps illegal merchants and gold-diggers away from this MMORPG universe, and hence there is pure game play and less clutter.

The micropayment approval process also helps the developers to make additional improvements in their game and make the MMO world more interesting.

Pirates Of The Burning Sea Review

Sep 22, 2008 in Entertainment

The Pirates of the Burning Sea has been long in development, and somewhere on the way the developers thought that this is going to be the next best MMORPG the world will have. They added to the team developing the game and worked harder. And, true to their promise, Pirates of the Burning Sea is truly a fabulous game that no MMORPG fan must miss.283-1024

As the name suggests, the game is on the high seas. But it is not that you can play just as a pirate of a ship. You can even be a captain commandeering your ship to your country's glory (you get to choose a nation). Well, of course, you don't become one at the start of the game itself. You have to choose a career to begin with and then do jobs to work your way upwards. The careers you can select range from naval officer, privateer, freetrader and pirate.

Something that rivets all players' attention when they start with Pirates of the Burning Sea is the action in it. Typical to the genre, the action here is called swashbuckling. Swashbuckling needs some learning though, and most of the initial part of the game is devoted to the learning curve devoted to this fighting skills. And it is not just about offense; the player is supposed to learn how to improve defense too, through a device known as a balance meter.

3D_17Within the fighting, there are three styles which include fighting with a cutlass, a rapier and with a short sword. Each style has a whopping 45 skills in it, which the players are meant to grow up with. The growth is categorized into ranks, and rank 15 is considered to be an expert rating. But remember that one could go on up to rank 50!

So what's more in this highly acclaimed game? There are the battles on the high sea that are usually 'do-or-die' situations. The Port Battles are the more interesting ones, which are fought between two groups. There are two dozen players chosen in one group, and if you enter one of these groups and your side wins, you will win a port!

Being a pirate MMORPG, ships are definitely a very important part. Currently there are more than 50 ships in the game, and new ones are continuously coming in. They are of different sizes, and you can have as many as four ships if you want.

Lineage II Graphics Review

Sep 22, 2008 in Entertainment

Despite its glitches, as its critics are so fast to point out, the graphics of Lineage II: The Chaotic Throne is much superior to the other games available in the stores currently. NC Soft has vastly improved the graphics of Lineage II over the original version of Lineage, and has fixed all the bugs and errors that were present in their initial offering. The graphics are very smooth flowing and more 'fleshed out' too, which is only expected, since the game uses the very highly acclaimed Unreal 2.0 Engine of Epic Games. On your computer, the game will require a 512 MB RAM and a GeForce Graphics Card to run at its smoothest best.3D_5

Medieval games tend to be dank and dark, and in MMORPGs this could become a problem. However, this problem is automatically solved by the Lineage II graphics due to its use of brighter colors, and also using more contrasts in each frame. The graphics are simply breathtaking and seeing that in an MMORPG is a real delectable marvel.

The engine and the required game specifications ensure that the Lineage II graphics work at their best on the player's computer. Players will want to stop and smell the roses in several places, literally. But be warned… there's no time to wait! The events of Lineage II occur in real time, and there's no time to be lost!

Formula One Auto Racing Teams

Sep 22, 2008 in Automotive

Whether you have just gotten started in the auto racing business or you have been involved with racing events throughout your life, chances are that you already know about the Formula One races that take place. There are many reasons why people all over the world consider Formula One auto racing to be the safest of all auto races in the world, but one of those reasons is that there are so strict of guidelines and rules to follow when building and manufacturing a car for the purpose of racing it. Nevertheless, though, fun is always had at Formula One auto racing events, and the drivers, teams, and participants of the race always fight to the win. There are some important new teams to the Formula One auto races and many of these teams have not yet won a World Championship. On the other hand, many of these teams have already raced at numerous Grand Prix events, and the competition is sure to be a fierce one. Here are some of the more popular teams in the Formula One field:

autoRenault

There are two individuals who are part of the Renault team for the auto racing Formula One events; however, neither of them has gotten a hold of the World Championship. The first driver, Heikki Kovalainen, has experienced several Grand Prix events, although that is nothing compared to how many his partner has entered throughout the years. Kovalainen's partner, Giancarlo Fisichella, has entered over 150 Grand Prix events. This team is sure to be of a success with Fisichella's know-how put together with his partner.

Ferrari

Even though neither of the drivers for the Ferrari team has won a World Championship yet, it's important to note that Ferrari has made 14 wins of the World Championship so far during the Formula One auto racing events ever since they have started racing cars. For the 2007 Formula One auto racing events Ferrari is using a 056 engine, which definitely has done them well!

A couple of the other teams for the Formula One auto races are McLaren-Mercedes and BMW. It's important to note that McLaren-Mercedes has won several Formula One auto racing championships, however, BMW has not won any since their debut just over 13 years ago. But perhaps the more important issue when it comes to Formula One racing is not the drivers that are part of the team, but how the drivers handle themselves during the auto racing events. For starters, part of what matters is how the cars are handled as well as how they're used. Furthermore, another issue that matters while auto racing are the type of parts that are placed in the vehicle while it's being built. No one single auto racing individual is able to win a Formula One racing event if they don't have the combination of a successful handling of the car, along with the right materials for the automobile.

All in all, though, Formula One racing has long been a popular form of auto racing that has attracted many famous individuals to the events. Whether you are a professional with the auto racing industry, though, or you are an auto racing lover at heart, chances are that you'll find exactly what you're looking for in the Formula One auto racing events of the year!

Betting On Auto Racing: What Are The Odds?

Sep 22, 2008 in Automotive

Gambling comes in many forms and just when you thought that betting on horse races went out of style; there comes a new fad that many people consider just as fun. Indeed, betting on people who are involved in the auto racing sport has become just as popular, if not more popular, than individuals betting on their horse races. But is there any benefit to betting on the drivers of the cars in the auto racing industry? What's even more interesting is the fact that many similarities and differences lie between the activity of betting on horse races and auto races. But see for yourself whether you should bet on someone involved in auto racing, and the benefit just may fall your way.

Similarities with Horse Race Bets

autoJust as horse race betting was very popular just ten to twenty years ago, the betting of horse races has now turned into auto racing betting, which is no better than simply gambling. The main similarity that auto racing bets have with those who bet on horse races is the fact that there is no simple way to know who's going to win the race. Just as horses are too unpredictable to bet on, so are humans who have auto-raced for a long time. The driver of the car may be having an "off" day, just as any horse can as well.

Another way, though, that auto racing betting is similar to horse race betting is the fact that there is a whole market out for it. Indeed, there are many people who consider auto racing to be even more important than horse racing, and many people in the same circles that bet on horse racing are now betting on the drivers that engage in auto racing.

Main Difference with Auto Racing

autoOne of the best things about betting on auto racing, though, is that humans are more predictable than horses ever could be. Just think about the NASCAR situation: when someone comes in first place it's rare that the spot is ever moved. Unless the car and driver of auto racing change in some significant way, the same drivers of the auto racing industry continue to keep their important status over time. This whole situation makes betting on auto racing not just more predictable, but also easier to win.

But consider the situation of auto racing bets when a bet is placed on a car and driver who has come in first place consistently for the past half of a year. Even though it is very likely that the person who has come in first place will do so again for many times over, it is also very likely that a new car and driver will easily beat out and win over the regular winner of the auto race.

In the end, is it ever really beneficial to bet on any of the auto racing that goes on, or is it ever beneficial to bet on any of the horse races that go on? Even though there are people who do find those times that they win a jackpot with the races that they bet on, more often than not they are sorely disappointed when their auto racing driver has lost to their colleagues. For this reason, the odds of winning bets on auto racing, even though they seem likely, can actually be slim to none!

Auto Racing: Why It’s Dumb and Dangerous

Sep 22, 2008 in Automotive

When it comes to favorite pastimes throughout the world there are many who actually choose auto racing as their hobby of choice. Even though many people engage in automobile racing without incident, such as those people who are involved in NASCAR and other professional organizations, there are many people who are downright dumb and dangerous with the whole idea of auto racing. There are many people why the whole activity is dangerous in its own rite, but here are some reasons why auto racing has become even more dangerous in recent years:

The Death of the Drivers

There are many people who choose auto racing without fully knowing the consequences. Even though many people pretend to think that auto racing is just a boys' sport that doesn't have any real danger attached to it (perhaps because a seat belt is worn!), but the fact of the matter is that many drivers of the automobiles die each and every year because they were careless and naive. Whether in the United States or many of the other countries around Europe, auto racing definitely has increased in the past ten years. To say that the activity is not dangerous is also naive, but just thinking about the fact that many drivers of the auto racing hobbyists do die should present a lesson to those who are interested in starting.auto

The Death of Innocent People

However, not only the drivers of the auto racing fanatics are at risk in this pastime. Even though many auto races do take place on dirt roads and abandoned fields, there are still plenty of people who perform auto racing late at night on highways, on normal residential streets, and in back alleys where they think that cops aren't watching. To perform auto racing in places where they think they won't get caught is just downright dumb, but these auto races should be taken to safe places where there is no danger of pedestrians and other innocent bystanders getting hurt in the crossfire.

Too Many Accidents

As mentioned, there are plenty of drivers who die because of the auto racing pastime. Even though many times the accidents that occur within auto racing are not the fault of the driver, many times they are. A driver of a car may simply choose not to buckle up, or he or she may daredevil his or her car in performing tricks other than the auto racing purpose. The fact of the matter is that there are just too many immature personalities that choose to be combined with auto racing scenes.

In order to combat some of the dangers of auto racing, in recent years there have been a plethora of separate groups, at least in the United States, that have taken auto racing into their own hands and taken some of the dangers away. For starters, these groups perform auto races that actually have sponsors, and they are conducted in safe places as well. Just because auto racers of all genres cannot be included in the professional NASCAR races does not mean that they have to miss out on these other opportunities. All in all, though, there is no doubt that auto racing is definitely dangerous and there should be limits on the activity itself!
